1957 Imperial rear springs

I didn't think that there were so different springs during one year only !!! On the 4dr HT you've 4 references !! I don't know what are the diffrences between them and if you could interchange. Some right springs were later used on left side, some sedan springs became later 4dr HT springs, etc..

Note that, other oddity, they continue on some '58 models !
But '58 models have a different frame because '58 rear springs are 2" longer in the rear half  (the rear shackle support is welded nearer the end of the frame), see below. So maybe some '58 models were built on 57 frame ? Please let me know your part number, it is readable if you clean the smallest leaf, see pic "on my car".

So be careful when you order springs !!!

Here are the dimensions of 57 and 58 models:

1957 : AB = 37" / BC = 21"

1958 : AB = 39" / BC = 21"

Width of spring: 2 1/2"

Here is a table (according to 55-58 parts manual) about standard rear springs. Note that i haven't listed the "heavy duty" stuff  (3 references) and i haven't listed the interchange between Chrysler (NY, Saratoga) and Imperial.

Rear spring # 4 dr sedan * 2 dr HT (Sp. Clb Cp) * 4 dr HT (sp 4 dr sedan) * 2 dr converible cp. *
