3 styles of wheel covers in 1957, according to series:
The IM1-1 (base model) has
one-piece wheel covers, with the central integrated "hub" or dome , but some
have a removable die-cast "hub" !!. No "fins" or "wings". The concave "bowl"
is painted flat black. Reference: Chrysler wheel cover # 1736 681.
IM1-2 (Crown) has nearly
the same cover, but the central hub (or dome or "spinner") have 3 little wings
or "fins" . Some spinners are cast in a single pot-metal piece,
others have "integrated stainless dome" with 3 die-cast fins.
This is only detectable on close inspection, for at any distance the appearance of the two
is the same. Reference: Chrysler wheel cover # 1736 675 / dome # 1829 631.
IM1-4 (LeBaron) has a cover
much like that of the Chrysler 300C, but without red color in the
"bowl" (flat black ?). The central hub is like that of the Crown.
Reference: Chrysler wheel cover # 1736 680 / dome # 1829 631.
A post from Wayne Graefen about '57/58
wheelcovers: Hi Phillippe, I don't know that we will ever get the
wheel cap questions fully answered because of the variety of caps that exist and
the fact that many of them are no longer with the cars they came on but have
been placed on other cars due to theft of one or a set or damage. Almost surely
there were two suppliers and there were apparently also engineering changes
during the production year and afterwards to provide "service parts".

same hubcaps for 1958 models (LY1 = IM1-1, etc..) but the central hub has a white plastic with gold "crown"
medallion.
